Chelsea host Everton in tomorrow’s early kick-off and we’re all hoping to see a continuation of the early goals that have defined our season so far.
Scoring early has set up almost every match we’ve played perfectly for us and without those goals things would have looked very different. Joao Pedro has been a big part of that, scoring some and assisting others, and Matt Law’s article for the Daily Telegraph today talks about how well the striker has been doing.
JP mimics his new teammates in his choice of shirt
JP now wears the number 9 and plays like the best number 9 in the world. Law’s article has some interesting information about how the striker wore the number 20 shirt last season.
Liam Delap signed earlier in the summer and claimed the number 9 – we all know how that works. JP then asked for the number 11 to remind Didier Drogba, but another recent arrival, Jamie Gittens, bagged it.
That sent the ex-Brighton man to his third-choice No.20. Why did he choose this? According to Law, citing “sources”, “Cole Palmer did a good job and scored in that shirt” before the England star then switched to number 10.
