Things are starting to look up for Manchester United with goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce leading the way.
Tullis-Joyce was named Man of the Match after making eight saves in the Red Devils’ 1-0 win over Liverpool in the WSL on Saturday. The result marked Manchester United’s fourth successive win in all competitions and Tullis-Joyce’s second league victory of the campaign.
Julia Olme’s sixth-minute goal put the hosts ahead before Tullis-Joyce stood on their heads the rest of the way. Tullis-Joyce’s eight saves would end up being the most in a single match for him this season as the Red Devils continued their recent comeback after a slow start.
Tullis-Joyce will now take charge of the US Women’s National Team in a crucial pair of friendlies against No. 1 Spain and hopes her recent performances for Man United will help push for the starting job.
Manchester United return to WSL action on October 18 against Charlton Athletic.
Elsewhere, Corbin Schrader Assisted once in Lyon’s win over Toulouse. Julian Eyestone Rotherham United put in a strong performance despite losing away to Exeter City.
