The Arsenal star has been targeted by two European giants in a shock transfer

Arsenal are set to return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Leeds United at home – and a host of European powerhouses will be watching the game closely.

Noni Madueke has attracted interest from Atletico Madrid and Juventus despite failing to start a Premier League match for Arsenal this season.

The 24-year-old has had extra training at Colney after missing out on Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the Nations League.

And Madueke will now focus on his return to England’s top flight this weekend as Arsenal host Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, October 10.

While football fans around the world will be tuning in to watch Mikel Arteta’s men hopefully reclaim their top spot in the table – currently three points behind league leaders Manchester City – the Gunners may have extra eyes on Madueke in particular.

It is believed that Atletico Madrid and Juventus are interested in the versatile winger.

It is claimed that the European powerhouse could look to capitalize on Madueke’s fall out of favor under Arteta and potentially attempt to cut prices when the January window opens.

However, other clubs could also be interested in the Barnet-born talent in the coming days, weeks and months.

While Madueke has managed 16 Premier League starts in the 2025/26 season, the current campaign has been less kind.

He and Victor Gokeres are among the first team members not to have started in England’s top flight for Arsenal this term, although that could soon change.

Christos Tzolis suffered a knee injury while on international duty with Greece and it is not known how long he will be sidelined.

This could prompt Arteta to use Madueke on the left flank as his options in that position behind Tzolis are hampered by Eberechi Eze, who is better suited to play in the pocket.

For this reason, it is still unknown whether “Arsenal” will agree to sell Madueke in the winter.

However, if Atleti’s interest is genuine, it could give the Gunners a huge advantage in finally securing Julian Alvarez.

The club were linked with the Argentine striker for most of the summer, but ultimately failed to agree a deal.

Alvarez has been criticized by Atletico Madrid fans so far this season, who have welcomed him with praise and jeers during La Liga matches, saying he hopes to explore other pastures during the window – including a dream move to Barcelona.

If fan behavior continues to be furious, it could prompt the club to offload him in January, while Arsenal could use Madueke as part of a swap deal to bring Alvarez to north London.
