Alex Freeman He enjoyed a productive international break with the US Men’s National Team, but now turns his attention to La Liga and a trip to one of the world’s most iconic venues.
Freeman and Villarreal resume their league table against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday. The USMNT defender comes out of a tight window, featuring in all four of the team’s home friendlies.
Freeman enters the break off the back of back-to-back starts for Villarreal, a positive sign after bouncing between the starting line-up and the bench earlier in the season. After making nine appearances in his first season with Villarreal, the 22-year-old Freeman has improved as a defender and has been forced into more games this fall.
Freeman will be hoping to lead the club to a historic road win in Villarreal’s first match of seven matches in October.
