Harry Kane could still seal a move to Tottenham despite recently agreeing a record-breaking new contract with Bayern Munich.
Tottenham have even retained first-choice transfer rights for Harry Kane after Bayern Munich confirmed a bumper new deal for the forward. The England captain saw his current contract expire in eight months but penned new terms that keep him at the German giants until 2029.
A sensational 12 months for Kane saw him win the Ballon d’Or last month, although he has not scored in his last three games, a drought for the 33-year-old. However, he has two assists for his goal contributions, taking him to 18 in just 14 matches this season.
Unsurprisingly, Bayern want to keep their talisman for at least a few years and have broken records to do so. He is claimed to be the highest paid player in Europe with a salary that justifies his performances over the past three years.
Kane’s top qualities could see him continue to play well into his 30s, but there’s no guarantee he’ll stay at Bayern for the rest of his career.
Despite his age, the Bundesliga side could sell Kane before his new contract expires to make some cash as they look at life without the Spurs academy graduate. A return to his boyhood club has never been ruled out and they have the upper hand if an interested party submits a bid.

“The Telegraph” writes that “Tottenham” still have the right to a bid for Kane after signing a new contract. Their report claims that the contract covers all of his writing in Germany and is therefore not void after the new deal.
Kane is trying to win the Champions League and his best chance is at Bayern Munich. If he can do that over the next few years, a return to his boyhood club to break the Premier League goalscoring record is possible.
Alan Shearer tops those rankings and Kane needs 48 wickets to reach 260. It’s clear that Kane still has a lot of interest in the Lilies, as evidenced by his comments after winning the Ballon d’Or.
During his acceptance speech, he said: “Thanks also to Tottenham Hotspur. Without Tottenham I wouldn’t be where I am today.
“All the management, all the coaches, you have allowed me to live my dreams. For all those moments, all the ups and downs along the way that have led me to this day. To all the fans, Bayern, England fans, Spurs fans and all my fans around the world. I love you in this room tonight.
“I appreciate your support. I remember being a fan a long time ago and what it meant to play football. It was my dream. Every moment I can give back to you, it’s an honor and a privilege to do so.”
