Christian Ziege was talking about Nick Woltemade and Matthias Jaissle.
The former Bayern Munich and Germany defender is looking forward to what could be possible at Newcastle United.
Nick Woltemade has had an up-and-down first season with United in the Premier League and three other competitions.
The inexperienced striker has yet to score 11 goals and provide a number of assists in the 2025-26 campaign, which has been met with a lot of media criticism.
The Germany international saw Eddie Howe leave in the close season and Matthias Jaissle arrived for NUFC just 18 days before the start of the 2026-27 season.
Matthias Jaissle left Big Nick on the bench for the 2-2 draw with Liverpool and the striker then played the full game as United beat West Brom 3-2 in the Carabao Cup.
Nick Woltemade then came on with 20 minutes to go to give Newcastle United a 1-0 lead at Tottenham, with Big Nick providing an assist within a minute as Wissa made it 2-0 to secure an away win in the Premier League.
With the signing of Matias Fernandez-Pardo, Nick Woltemade has decided to spend the rest of this season on loan at Juventus.
Christian Ziege told Boyle Sports: “I hope that Nick Woltemade will return to play for Newcastle under Matthias Jaissle. I feel a little sorry for Nick Woltemade, Matthias Jaissle is a fantastic coach who has proven himself in Austria and Germany. Woltemade is another example of a player who had a good season in Stuttgart. Before a big move, the Premier League is difficult for strikers and things did not go well for him there.
No doubt many people reading this will wonder two things.
Will Nick Woltemade return to play for Newcastle United instead of being sold?
If Big Nick were to play for United again, would Matthias Jaissle still be NUFC manager by then?
The Christian Goat: “Now Nick Woltemade is on loan at Juventus and it could be even more difficult for Serie A strikers. Maybe he should have stayed to work under Jaissle at Newcastle, but if he came back from loan to work with him later, that could be a different story. Let’s hope things go in the right direction for both Woltemade and then Juventus.”
After very limited chances early on at Juventus, Nick Woltemade has now started five games in Serie A and the Europa League, with Juventus winning four and drawing the other. Big Nick has three goals and one assist so far.
