Last year in December 2025, Jake Paul suffered a humiliating sixth round defeat to heavyweight Anthony Joshua. After a blow to the jaw, Paul lost by knockout. He then had to undergo immediate surgery for a fractured jaw and was sidelined indefinitely.

Months after the surgery, Paul has finally been cleared for his return to the ring and now he is set to box in his comeback fight on December 24, 2026 in Dubai. However, ahead of their fight, his MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian gave an interview to Sky Sports and she claimed Paul could still beat Joshua with the right preparation.

“I was pretty vocal that I didn’t want him to go to the fight three weeks ago,” Bidarian said. “He did better than the guy Anthony Joshua fought in July [Prenga] and was not KO’d.

“I don’t think it was a huge overkill; Jake landed on AJ a few times [Anthony Joshua]and you saw in July that AJ was vulnerable but too fast, not enough prep time. He was cutting weight to fight Gervonta Davis and then all of a sudden he was fighting a guy who was naturally 40 pounds heavier than him. If Jake did it with the right training camp, he would have a really good shot at beating AJ,” he said.

In another recent interview with Sun Sport, Bidarian revealed his intentions regarding Paul’s rematch with Joshua. “Honestly, he wants to fight Anthony Joshua again. That’s ideal for him, but I think he was saying he would fight both guys,” he said. So far, however, neither Joshua nor Paul have considered their chances of a rematch.
