Chelsea’s injury situation is good at the moment – but it’s going in the wrong direction.
Several players have already been ruled out and we added Reece James, Amy Martinez and Pep Chavarria to that list last week. The squad is deep and it’s not time to panic yet, but Xabi Alonso had to give an update on a few players today.
One sent off at full back, the other a “penalty”
We know Martinez and James will be sidelined for a while, so what we wanted to know was the injury we know little about – the problem that ruled Chavarria out of the Everton game at the last minute last week. Alonso didn’t give too much information (he never does), but he did confirm that the Spaniard will not be available for tomorrow’s game against Spurs.
“Earth [Gusto] it’s good “Pep is training a little more, but he won’t be able to do it.”
It looks like he will be back for a week at the most and could even be available for the midweek game against Liverpool. Jorrel Hato will continue on the left, while Marco Palestra can come in and play on either side if needed.
