Guglielmo Vicario was furious with his Juventus teammates after a late 3-2 loss to Sassuolo. “We’ve been talking about this all week and we can’t concede these goals.”
The Bianconeri twice fell behind to failed offside traps to goals from Sebastiano Esposito and Kieron Bowie, but leveled the score both times with a solo strike from Eden Zegrova.
However, as they all pushed forward to try and win the game, they were caught off guard by Vasily Adiz, who fired a late shot past the ineffective Douglas Lewis to make it 3-2.

The goalkeeper was visibly angry at his teammate’s lack of cover in a one-on-one situation.
Vicario furious at Juventus mistake
“There is a lot of pain because I understand the desire to win games because we are Juventus and we have an obligation to aim for victory every time, but we lost our balance and we have been talking about this all week,” Vicario told DAZN Italy.
“Juventus cannot concede two goals like this. This is a club with a great history and we cannot allow goals like this. We need to be more calm and balanced because we have a quality team and we will be able to create chances.”
Just a week ago, Juventus had equalized and Federico Gatti came off the bench to help the team draw 1-1 with Milan.
Will this result make the Bianconeri any more angry or regretful about the way they developed?
“In my opinion, it’s both, because we managed to turn the situation in our favor. We have to be able to control these moments of the game better because we have quality,” continued Vicario, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
“We have to realize we can score at the last second but we can also concede, so we need to be more careful.”
Juventus are in the midst of an injury crisis, so are they feeling the impact of losing captain Manuel Locatelli four to six months after meniscus surgery?
“Of course, he is our key player, but we cannot hide behind these absences,” the goalkeeper replied.
“We’re sorry to lose Manuel, but it’s a long-term injury and we do have good players in the squad. We can’t keep making excuses.”
