Venezia has signed a 40-year contract with Venice city council to manage its new stadium, which will open in the 2027-28 season.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the stadium will be built in Tessera, near Mestre on the mainland, as part of the Bosco dello Sport sports complex. It will hold 18,500 fans for football and will also host concerts, festivals and other large events.
According to the agreement, the club will invest a total of 125 million euros. This covers the completion of stadium facilities, maintenance and concession fees over a period of 40 years.
“Today is a historic day for Venezia FC and our community. Bosco dello Sport will be our new home,” said club president Francesca Bodie. “It will be an innovative, comprehensive and sustainable stadium that meets the highest international standards.”

Venetian migration from Penzo
The move will end Venezia’s long stay at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo, one of Italy’s oldest grounds on the island of Sant’Elena. It is only accessible by boat or on foot, and its limited capacity and facilities have long been a problem for the club.
Venice Mayor Simone Venturini described the agreement as the end of decades of disputes.
“After decades of debate and talk, the dream of a modern and functional stadium is finally something we can touch,” he said. “It will be the home of Venezia FC, but also a source of opportunity for the whole area.”
The opening of the new stadium should take place in the second half of the 2027-28 season.
