USMNT: McKenzie replaces injured Campbell on November roster

Mauricio Pochettino was forced to make a replacement for the US Men’s National Team in November.

Mark McKenzie has been called up to camp to replace injured defender George Campbell, USA Soccer announced Friday. Campbell was forced to pull out of the match after picking up a groin injury at West Bromwich Albion in midweek.

Despite playing 45 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Southampton in the EFL Championship, Campbell will miss out on a second successive window.

McKenzie, 27, has won 30 caps with the USMNT to date and returns after not being called up for the September-October window. His last game was in the USMNT’s final match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage, a 3–2 loss to Turkey.

McKenzie joins 10 other listed players who have won the CONCACAF Nations League titles in 2019-20 and 2023-24.

At club level, McKenzie has gone the distance in all nine Ligue 1 appearances for Toulouse this season. After being transferred from the Belgian club “Genk” in August 2024, he played a total of 76 games for the club.

The USMNT will face Haiti in the quarterfinals of the Nations League on November 14th and 17th. Miami, Fla., will play the first game on Nov. 14 before the series moves to Cincinnati, Ohio, three days later.

This will be the first head-to-head meeting between the USMNT and Haiti since the group stage of the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
