For the fourth time in its history, the Octagon finds itself in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada as UFC Edmonton takes place at Rogers Place on October 17th.
The main event will feature a middleweight contender’s fight as Joaquin Buckley takes on Mike Malott.
Buckley comes into this fight week very focused as he looks to bounce back from losses to Kamaru Usman and Sean Brady. Malott, meanwhile, is riding a four-fight winning streak coming into this fight after finishing former title challenger Gilbert Burns earlier this year.
The co-main event will be a pivotal women’s bantamweight bout between two ladies still looking for their first title fights as Erin Blanchfield takes on Jasmine Jasudavicius. Blanchfield is 14-2 coming into this fight having submitted Tracy Cortez at UFC 322 last year. And Jasudavicius is coming off a win over Karine Silva earlier this year.
The rest of the UFC Edmonton main card will feature Kyle Nelson vs. Christian Perez, Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Kyle Daukaus, Louis Jourdain vs. Timothy Kuamba and Mandel Nallo vs. Nate Landwehr.
MARC-ANDRE BARRIAULT VS KYLE DAUKAUS
Barriault is a tough and aggressive fighter who tries to pressure his opponents with his combinations and power. The downside is that this fighting strategy can leave him open and he is now on a hard slide, losing five of his last six games. For Daukaus, meanwhile, things have been great in this return to the UFC. He reached the finals against Michelle Pereira and Gerald Meerschaert, and earned an opportunity to compete at UFC Freedom 250 despite losing to Bo Nickal.
Daukaus has some powerful jabs and takedowns, and he could probably give Barriault a run with his reach and punches. Barriault will have to pace this fight to worry Daukaus. The sooner Daukaus takes control, the better the chance of a finish.
BET: Daukaus by KO/TKO or submission (Double Chance) (Caesar: -105)

ALMOND NALLO VS NATE LANDWEHR
If you like fireworks in your fights, get ready for this show. Nallo is an aggressive fighter with excellent finishing, and his power and pressure have helped elevate him to a UFC prospect worth keeping an eye on. But when you go up against someone like Landwehr, even in a three-fight sweep, you have to be able to take what the food is. Landwehr also brings a high work rate; he is someone who can bounce back and deal with adversity.
If Nallo finds his strength early and doesn’t get into melee, he can beat Landwehr. Otherwise, the longer the fight and the more brawls, the better Landwehr’s chances.
BET: Nallo by KO/TKO in Round 1 (FanDuel: +145)
TANNER BOSER VS JHONATA DINEZ
Boser is a Canadian heavyweight looking to bounce back from a loss in his UFC return to Gökhan Sarıçama by KO in April. He is a mobile heavyweight who relies on his movement to help set up combinations, disrupting the flow of opponents as he tries to find power. His chin came into question in the later stages of his career and Diniz took advantage of it with seven KO/TKOs in his nine wins.
Diniz is a powerful former kickboxer and his striking could help give him a significant advantage, as long as he can control the movement and cut off the cage from Boser. If he can put pressure on Boser, he can get that 10th win with another finish. But if Boser can mix up his attacks and force Dinis to work in close range, Boser could get his first taste of victory in the Octagon in a long time.
BET: Fight to the finish under KO/TKO/DQ and 2.5 rounds SGP (BetMGM: +105)
