Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Polo is expected to be sidelined for around a month after sustaining a hamstring injury.
The 27-year-old has been withdrawn from the Spain squad for this international break and is unlikely to feature upon his return for Roberto De Zerbi’s side. Premier League The game against Manchester United on October 10th.
Polo is also likely to miss Tottenham Hotspur’s home game against Coventry City on October 19, although there is confidence he will recover in time to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge five days later.
The right-back was forced off in the 17th minute of Saturday’s 2-3 loss to Aston Villa at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Archie Gray replaced him for the remainder of the game.
Polo has already missed Tottenham’s games against Everton and Liverpool this month and will now be sidelined again.
Polo withdraws from Spanish national team
Polo was initially named in Luis de la Fuente’s Spain squad for the international break, but injury forced him to withdraw.
Sporting CP defender Ivan Fresneda was subsequently called up as his replacement.
Jed Spence left Tottenham Hotspur to join Inter Milan in the summer, with Gray emerging as Polo’s main replacement.
