The US Men’s National Team final match in 2026 will be a golden opportunity for MLS players.
Jamaica will take on the USMNT on Dec. 13 at Inter Miami Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA Soccer announced Tuesday. This will be a major training session for both teams ahead of the 2026 final and the 2027 clash.
With the match outside the FIFA window, the USMNT camp will feature mostly MLS players due to most franchises finishing their seasons.
Several MLS products made their senior USMNT debuts in the September-October window, including Julian Hall, Adri Mehmeti, Justin Ellis, Peyton Miller and Brian Schwake.
“This is a great opportunity to work with a lot of MLS players and potentially see some new faces as we continue to build our squad,” USMNT coach Mauricio Pochettino said. “Jamaica is the type of team we can expect to see in upcoming tournaments, including World Cup Qualifiers, so this is a great opportunity and experience for the players. Of course, we love playing in Ft. Lauderdale and having the support of the amazing fans in the area.”
The USMNT and Jamaica will meet for the first time since the 2024 CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal series, which the Americans won 5-2 on aggregate. It will be the 36th meeting of all time between the two countries, who could also meet in the Nations League Final Four next March, pending progress to the quarter-finals in November.
Prior to the Jamaica contest, the USMNT will meet Haiti in the quarterfinals of the Nations League this November and look for a spot in March’s Final Four.
