AFC Wimbledon assistant manager Terry Skiverton has been diagnosed with throat cancer and is scheduled to begin treatment in the coming weeks.
The League One club said Skiverton was facing health problems after announcing in July that he would be stepping away from his duties to recover from an ankle injury.
The club’s statement reads:, external “Terry has received valuable support from the League Managers Association (LMA) in recent months and the club will continue to stand by him and his family throughout his treatment and recovery.
“Everyone at AFC Wimbledon sends Terry their best wishes as he prepares for the next phase of his treatment.”
The 51-year-old joined AFC Wimbledon as Jonny Jackson’s assistant in May 2022 and helped the club to promotion to League One in 2025, reaching the play-offs.
