An article by Matt Law for the Telegraph claims today that Chelsea are “at the front of the queue” to sign Bournemouth’s Alex Scott.
The Blues made a £60m+ bid for the midfielder in the summer, but the Cherries were determined to keep hold of their rising star. He started the season well and has now made his England debut. If this form continues, it’s hard to imagine him moving for much less than £100m next summer.
He will have a year left on his contract at the end of the season, meaning he has the power to force a move.
Scott looks set to play with or instead of Moises Caicedo
That’s all music to the ears of Scott-starred Chelsea fans after Croatia were dismantled by England last night. In other news…
Alejandro Garnacho has moved to Aston Villa on loan and is finally getting some minutes, albeit in friendlies.
Chelsea’s priority this break is to improve their defence, and some stats from the first 5 games of the season show just how bad the situation is.
Jules Kounde continues to be linked with Chelsea – despite the Blues’ defensive problems, we can’t see a move happening in January.
