For the second consecutive Serie A match, Inter Milan came back from 2-0 down to win, this time beating Udinese 5-3 in a chaotic clash at San Siro.
The Nerazzurri got off to a perfect start in Serie A, coming back from 2-0 down to beat Napoli 3-2, but lost 2-1 to Real Madrid in this week’s Champions League opener due to some personal errors.

Udinese took a surprising early lead as a corner kick was taken short and Unai Gomez’s cross from the right was met by James Abankwa’s header which flew back into the top corner from seven yards out. It was the former Watford midfielder’s first Serie A goal.
Marcus Thuram latched on to Nicolo Barella’s overhead pass but Maduka Okoye saved his header and follow-up from close range.
However, Inter were noticeably sluggish and slow to react in Udinese’s second goal. Kenan Davis passed the ball from the left and Jurgen Eklenkamp fired an undisturbed shot at the near post.
Assistant coach Alexander Kolarov was sent off for dissent as Thuram’s appeal against his penalty for an altercation with Christian Kabasele was rejected.
Just a few days ago, Inter Milan scored a goal against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. Carlos Augusto’s left foot screamed the ball into the far bottom corner from 20 yards out, and Inter Milan pulled a goal back.

The 2-0 advantage was erased in less than 10 minutes when Hassan Kamara was forced away from possession in midfield and Barella initially stumbled on Thuram’s pass but then stood up and fired in an angled shot.
Barella came close to turning the game around just before half-time when his shot was cleverly tipped over the crossbar by Okoye before Mkhitaryan’s shot hit the corner.
After the restart, Okoye swooped in to deny Mkhitaryan’s shot at the near post from 10 yards, before Kamara snoozed as Andy Diouf raced over the top to Barella’s ball, sprinting from midfield and pulling back from the halfway line for Thuram’s first-time sweep from eight yards. For the second consecutive Serie A game, Inter Milan went from being behind 0-2 to leading 3-2.
When Stones chased Davis, Davis had to come off due to injury, but Inter Milan extended the advantage to 4-2 with an excellent pass. Curtis Jones and Piotr Zielinski combined to block Francesco Pio Esposito’s low shot from 12 yards.
Dimarco returned from injury after missing the trip to Madrid with a knee injury and was involved in the fifth goal. It was a great team move as DiMarco, Esposito and Diouf combined to clear Ange-Yoann Bonny, and the first shot was blocked but the second was unstoppable.
Aleksandar Stankovic went close to the sixth when his free-kick deflected through the wall and hit the outside of the post.
Udinese pulled a goal back again in stoppage time when Vaqun Bayo chested in Sandy Loveric’s cross, allowing teammate Idrissa Gueye to slide in from the back post.
