Milan agree with former Frankfurt and RB Leipzig director Krösche

Reports in Italy and Germany suggest that Milan are closing in on a deal with former Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig director Markus Krösche set to take over the role of Head of Football at the San Siro.

Kicker: Milan could agree Krösche by the end of the week

Krösche has resigned as Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director and his release has been unanimously approved by the board, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Sunday.

Krösche was heavily linked with a move to join Milan earlier this summer: the Bianconeri restructured their senior management team after the departure of coach Massimiliano Allegri, sporting director Igli Tare, technical director Geoffrey Moncada and CEO Giorgio Furlani all at once.

Allegri has since been replaced by Ruben Amorim and other reshuffles mean Massimio Calvelli is now CEO, Hendrick Almstadt head of player trading and Bobby Gardiner director of football intelligence.

Milan ultimately failed to agree a final deal with Krösche and Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer, although the Rossoneri are ready to offer the boss €10 million per season.

But according to reports in the last 24 hours, they are now agreeing on the German to take charge of football.

According to Kicker, Milan and Krösche could reach an agreement by the end of this week.

Although Krösche has resigned from his position at Eintracht Frankfurt, he recently extended his contract with the German club until the summer of 2028, which remains in place and means that Milan will have to pay compensation if they want to appoint him as football boss.
