Man City Star slams PSG display as ‘Disaster’

Former Juventus and Morocco international defender Mehdi Benatia has criticized Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma for his role in Wednesday night’s 4-2 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain.

Enzo Maresca’s side were 2-0 down in the first 15 minutes and Benatia Donnarumma was not happy with the first 2 saves:

“In matches like this we usually talk about the first quarter of an hour. Here they conceded two goals in a quarter of an hour, so obviously he was responsible for the first goal and he could have done better.”

“Then when Manchester City developed and started to come back, they scored the second goal. So the whole match was a disaster. [for him].”

Donnarumma had an eventful evening

It was certainly not the best game of the Italians. However, many fans feel that the fourth goal is the one where the goalkeeper is most at fault.

After initially saving Maghnes Akliouche’s shot, despite Donnarumma’s best efforts, the ball was still turned into the goal.

The 27-year-old football player saved the penalty at the end of the game and made the score a little more respectable.

Man City did not appear in the first half

While Donnarumma must take the blame for the defeat, it has to be said that Maresca’s men deserved to go behind after coming out of the blocks very slowly.

They responded very well after the break and created many chances, but the damage was already done.

while PSG Credit must be given to how strongly they started, City’s players (including Donnarumma) had to take a hard look at themselves as the match progressed, particularly in the first half hour.
