Louis Kimber: The Northamptonshire all-rounder has extended his contract until 2028

Northamptonshire all-rounder Louis Kimber has signed a one-year deal that will keep him at the county until the end of the 2028 season.

The 29-year-old joined the club from Leicestershire last year and made 17 appearances in the County Championship and T20 Blast, which Northamptonshire won in July.

Kimber hit a career-best 66 in Northants’ win at Gloucestershire in May to reach a total of 1,685 first-class runs.

Kimber told the club’s website: “Winning the Blast was an incredible achievement and it made us even more motivated to succeed.”

“I can’t wait to get back to work, continue to improve my game and bring more success to the club.”

Kimber took just one wicket and scored 175 runs in his first season with Northants, but manager Darren Lehmann believes there are more to come.

“Maybe Luis didn’t have the season he would have liked this year, but I believe he is a player who can make a big contribution to the side,” Lehmann said.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what Louis can do next year.”
