KC Concepcion Sends Message to Browns Fans After Scary Hit

Few minutes on the football field are scarier than watching a player lay on the ground after a violent collision. The game stops, teammates gather around, and fans wait for any sign that he’s okay. Even after a player leaves the field, anxiety usually persists until news of his condition arrives. Browns fans received some welcome reassurance about KC Concepcion hours after Sunday’s loss.

ESPN Cleveland shared a message the rookie posted on social media after the game.

“You know I’m fine thanks to my lord and savior,” Concepcion said.

This message will come as a relief after his late afternoon. Concepcion was knocked out in the 1st quarter by Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick on a helmet-to-helmet hit, and he never returned in the 17-12 loss.

The diagnosis means he will have to work through the league’s concussion protocol before he can play again.

There is no set timeline. Some players clear the protocol within a week, while others take significantly longer, so his status for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens remains up in the air.

His value goes beyond the passing game. Concepcion entered Sunday with 144 receiving yards, but he’s also been a weapon on returns, so much so that opposing quarterbacks have admitted to keeping the ball away from him.

His positive message also says something about his personality. He recently said he can’t wait for the chance to make a big comeback, and his quick composure after a scary knock suggests that same competitive spirit is very much intact.

The Browns could use some good news on the injury front. Mason Graham is already out and both Quinshon Judkins and Carson Schwesinger were seen in shoes after the game. A quick turnaround for Concepcion would ease some of the strain on a suddenly stretched roster.

For now, the most important thing is that he feels good. The Browns will be cautious, as they should be, but if Concepcion can clear the protocol in time to face Baltimore, it will provide a much-needed boost to one of the biggest games of the season.
