On Thursday, October 1, defender Jordyn Bugg signed a multi-year contract with the Seattle Reign through the 2030 NWSL season. The 20-year-old has become a mainstay with the Reign and is already well known for his defensive consistency over two NWSL seasons.
“Jordin represents so much of what we believe in and where we want this club to go,” Seattle Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore said in the team’s official press release. “He has already established himself as one of the best young defenders in our league and his maturity, competitiveness and commitment to getting better every day gives us great confidence in what he can become.
Bugg’s two years in the NWSL have been impressive. She was named to the NWSL Team of the Month twice (in March and June 2025) and finished as a finalist for the 2025 Defender of the Year Award. He was named to the NWSL Best XI Second Team at the end of last season.
In addition to his performance at the club, he began to appear on the international stage. She was called up by Emma Hayes to the U.S. Women’s National Team Future Camp in January 2025 and was called up to the first senior national team a few months later in June 2025. She has made just six appearances for the USWNT so far.
