Jalen Hurts was placed on IR due to a blood clot

On Thursday, October 8th, Jalen visited the training room after practice and requested treatment for his calf. He informed the medical staff during the Oct. 4 Rams game. It was his first treatment session for a calf injury after the game after training fully on both Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, Jalen received treatment, practiced fully and was added to the practice report.

Out of an abundance of caution, an ultrasound scan was performed on Saturday after the team’s flight to London and the walk. An ultrasound revealed a superficial blood clot. Our medical staff and doctors in London reviewed the results and concluded that activity and mobility were important and that Jalen could play safely. Doctors advised him to have an ultrasound within 72 hours of the game and return to Philadelphia.

Jalen played unrestricted in Sunday’s game, received treatment Monday and Tuesday, and practiced fully Wednesday, as reflected on his practice report. During our time in London and this week we have been in contact with the league office regarding this matter.

On Wednesday night, a follow-up ultrasound revealed movement in a small blood clot. Jalen will not play Sunday against the Panthers as we determine the appropriate course of treatment. His health and safety is our top priority.
