It was a great day for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge today and one of the best things was the return of Moises Caicedo.

It was his first Premier League start of the season and he immediately linked up with midfield partner Jordan Henderson, who made his second.

After the game, manager Xabi Alonso had a really interesting answer about his thoughts on their partnership together.

“Both are different in terms of quality, but also in terms of position,” explained Alonso.

“I think they help each other well and they’re a presence, they give stability. You know they’re going to help the rest, not just because of their quality, because they understand the game.

“They can play in shorter spaces but they also have a good balance defensively. For me it’s important that we strengthen that area and I’m sure with Moises, Hendo played today, it was his second game. Romeo [Lavia] also, he played some good minutes, reece [James] played a little there for a few minutes and [Valentin] Barco, so we have to continue to build around that.”
