Getafe president confirms talks to sign Sancho

The president of Getafe has confirmed that the LaLiga club are in talks to sign former Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.

Sancho, who spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Europa League winners Aston Villa, has been without a club since his contract at Old Trafford expired this summer.

The 26-year-old footballer previously played on loan at Chelsea in 2024-25 and Borussia Dortmund in 2023-24. Both spells were unsuccessful, with Sancho failing to hit the heights he reached during his first spell with Dortmund, which convinced United to make a failed £73million move to secure his services.

Sancho, who reportedly turned down a move to Russian club Krasnodar, will now head to Spain, with Getafe president Angel Torres confirming talks ahead of their Conference League clash with Craiova.

He told Movistar Plus: “We are negotiating with Sancho as we did three or four months ago.

“[Dani] Parejo could also be another option. We have to confirm whether we will conclude these negotiations next week.”

“Getafe” has collected eight points from the first game of La Liga and is ranked 14th in the tournament table. On Monday, they host the representative of Madrid, “Rayo Vallecano”.
