Levante midfielder Jose Campana’s contract has been extended until 2023.
Senegal international Khadim Ndiaye, 34, has been extended his contract by his club Horoya AC after he broke both legs on Saturday. N’Diaye’s contract was originally scheduled to expire this year, but Guinea gave him a three-year extension “to ensure his near-term future.” When he retired, he was also invited to serve as the club’s technical staff.

Angel apologizes to Swans fans
Former Swansea City right-back Angel Rangel has apologized to fans for allowing social media messages to be sent to him during his current club Queens Park Rangers’ (QPR) 4-0 win over Swansea City. Among the messages he received were comments that he would not be able to deal with Swans’ in-form winger Daniel James, leading to Rangel pointing to his pocket after silencing James. Rangel later apologized, saying: “I would like to apologize to all the disappointed Swansea fans. I had no intention of hurting the loyal fans who have supported me over the years. We won the game and I feel good. I tried to express my anger at the fans who disrespected me during the week. But that was not the case. The moral of the story is that I did not think I should have done this.
Burnley investigating fan issues
Burnley are investigating a number of incidents involving social media and their fans. A supporter was banned from the stadium after posting “a number of offensive posts”. Burnley are also working with police to investigate footage posted on social media of a fight between fans and Cardiff City fans outside the stadium on Saturday.
Gomez faces FA charges
Everton midfielder Andre Gomez, who is on loan at the Toffees from Barcelona (a prime example of how bad their scouting is), has been charged with violent conduct by the FA. Gomez appeared to stamp on Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic in stoppage time during Fulham’s 2-0 win over Everton. Referee Lipbert did not see the incident at the time.
Scottish football is in decline
Non-league football in Scotland has gone crazy! Renfrew Football Association prepared to substitute Craig Dallas but the linesman told him he had to take off his underwear. The problem is believed to be that his boxer shorts were a different color to his shorts, so play was suspended until a substitute could remove them.
Solskjaer refuses manager’s parking spot
Recently appointed Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not park in the manager’s bay at the club’s Carrington training ground because he believes it still belongs to Alex Ferguson, it has been revealed.
Marin banned for life
Former Brazilian Football Federation president José María Marin has been banned for life from all football-related activities by FIFA over bribery charges. Marin was one of seven FIFA officials arrested at a Zurich hotel nearly four years ago. He was also sentenced to four years in a U.S. prison for corruption. Considering he is 86 years old, I doubt the lifetime ban will last for a long time.
Enrique Given gives the all-clear
Former Newcastle United and Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique is back fit after undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor. The 33-year-old retired but began to have headaches after a meeting with his former manager and current Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton, who took on the new role of agent. He was eventually diagnosed with a rare tumor called chordoma, which was discovered behind his eye.
Atlanta sets unpopular record
Serie A side Atalanta set a new record by failing to score against Empoli. No team in Europe’s top 5 leagues has taken 18 shots on target in a game, or 47 in total (yes, forty-seven!?!). Empoli goalkeeper Bartlomy Dragowski made 17 saves to keep the clean sheet. In contrast, Empoli only had three shots on goal in 90 minutes.
Police investigate flare incident
A young Chelsea fan went into panic after a flare thrown by a Liverpool fan bounced off a Chelsea fan following their opening goal in a 2-0 win over his own team. Police are investigating the incident, with Merseyside Police saying: “We can confirm we are investigating an incident following the throwing of a flare during Liverpool’s match against Chelsea on April 14. The incident was reported to us at 5.40pm.” [17:40 BST]A flare was thrown at Anfield in the first half, shortly after Liverpool scored their first goal [Road] stand. Later, around 6:20 p.m. [18:20 BST]Police were called to reports that a young Chelsea fan, believed to be nine years old, was taken to A&E and treated by St John Ambulance staff after suffering a panic attack caused by the flare. It was unclear who threw the flare. However, the investigation is still ongoing. “
Rome takes steps to avoid Drake Curse
Serie A side Roma banned all players from taking photos with Drake after he cursed Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain this season. The “curse” of Drake has been a perennial blight on the football world, with Canadians from sports as diverse as college football, tennis, basketball and mixed martial arts suffering after he expressed support. Alabama lost to Clemson after Drake was photographed wearing an Alabama sweatshirt, Conor McGregor was handed Khabib Nurmagomedov after Drake backed him to win, and the Toronto Raptors, Kentucky and Serena Williams all lost after he backed him. The list of footballers who have lost their next game after taking a selfie with Drake is also growing, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Jadon Sancho, Paul Pogba and now Layvin Kurzawa all doing so in recent weeks.
