Gloucestershire footballer Daaryoush ‘Daz’ Ahmed has extended his contract with the club until the end of 2027.
The 26-year-old all-rounder from Bristol has played 23 times for the club across all three formats of the game.
He scored a career first-class score of 90 not out from 117 balls against Middlesex in the County Championship earlier this year and took six wickets.
In the One Day Cup, he took figures of 4-56 and hit 48 off 38 balls in a three-wicket win over Northamptonshire.
“He put his heart and soul into improving as a cricketer last year and we saw some really good performances from him throughout the season,” Gloucestershire’s director of cricket Jon Lewis told the club website., external
“I think the extension shows that we want to invest in him and we feel he has a future in Gloucestershire.”
Ahmed added: “Gloucestershire is a club that means a lot to me and my family.
“Having grown up in Bristol and having played for the club from a young age, continuing my career here in Gloucestershire is brilliant news and I’m looking forward to what next year holds.”
