Panic around the Dallas Cowboys after a 2-3 start.
Dallas’ defense has been woeful so far, but the players are doing their best to change that. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown said this week he and his defensive teammates held a players-only meeting after the Bucs loss to figure out where they went wrong and how to fix it.

Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin doubts it will help, and he explained. New heights a podcast where gamers-only meetings could portend bad times ahead.
“I think you’re dead,” Tomlin said. “… If it happened, I’d rather not hear about it. The fact that you’re hearing about it makes it BS”
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer has a different perspective, one rooted in the player-first culture he’s tried to cultivate in Dallas.
“I love it,” Schottenheimer told reporters this week. “I’ve said from the beginning that the best teams I’ve ever been on are led by the locker room. And the information I got from some of the guys who called that meeting was very productive. It was very open and honest.”

Dallas’ defense has struggled mightily under first-year coordinator Christian Parker, so the team brought in veteran coach Mike Petty this week as their senior defensive assistant. It was also considered a panic move in NFL circles.
Things won’t get any easier for Dallas with a road game Sunday against Jordan Love and the high-flying Green Bay Packers offense.
