Chiefs running back Terry McLaurin sat out the 49ers after suffering a knee injury

Chiefs wide receiver Terry McLaurin was ejected with a left leg during the first quarter of Washington’s Week 6 Monday Night Football game at the 49ers. It’s officially a knee injury and he’s out for the rest of the game. After the game, Dan Quinn said there was no update, but added that “the concern is that it could be significant.”

“There is fear,” he concluded.

McLaurin went down while running a route clutching his knee and was unable to power down the sideline.

McLaurin, 31, has been a staple for Washington since being drafted in the third round in 2019. He missed one game with a hamstring injury (Week 4), but leads the Chiefs with 230 receiving yards this season, including a 27-yard catch early in Monday’s contest.

McLaurie’s injury is the latest for a struggling Chiefs team that lost Jayden Daniels (elbow) for several games earlier this year and has been without Laremy Tunsil all season after tearing his triceps in training camp. Marcus Mariota, Stefon Diggs, Sam Cosmi and Chig Okonkwo also missed time, and starting running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt landed on IR this week as well.

Washington (1-3-1) was outscored 14-3 during McLaury’s departure. Diggs, Okonkwo and rookie Antonio Williams will be more involved going forward.
