The Argentinian goalkeeper made a new statement on the social network after the operation

Amy Martinez has given an update on social media after undergoing surgery on her jaw following a brutal clash with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in Chelsea’s 2-0 win.

Martinez was injured in a horrific collision with Jarrad Branthwaite when the Everton defender threw himself at the ball as he tried to connect with a cross.

Both players were left sprawled on the pitch as the match was stopped for more than 10 minutes while Martinez received treatment.

The Chelsea players immediately signaled for medical help, with Levi Colwill on his hands after witnessing the collision.

Martinez was eventually carried off the field on a stretcher and was seen in motion as he left the field with his hands resting on the side of his head.

In a message posted on Instagram, Martinez, who took a selfie from his hospital bed, said: “Thanks to everyone for the messages, surgery went well.

“The most important thing is that we won and with a bow at 0. We will be back in a few weeks.”

According to Argentinian journalist Gaston Edul, Martinez passed most tests without concern, with his head, back and neck checked before going to the hospital.

“Chelsea” head coach Xabi Alonso announced that Martinez was conscious when he left the stadium in the morning.

“It was a concussion, but other than that I don’t know,” he said after the game. “I’ve only seen one clip of the incident, so we’ll have to wait.

“What we know is that he left the stadium unconscious and is currently undergoing backup tests in the hospital.

“We have to wait. Hopefully it won’t be too serious, but right now we just have to wait.”
