“Chelsea” has agreed on terms for the transfer of Alex Scott

Chelsea have largely agreed personal terms with Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, according to Simon Phillips.

The England international has emerged as one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League in recent times and it seems inevitable that he will earn a big move sooner or later.

Chelsea are in need of a big signing in midfield after Enzo Fernandez left for Manchester City in the summer and Scott could be the ideal replacement for the Argentina international.

According to Phillips, Chelsea have been verbally agreeing everything with Scott since the summer, so it looks like they could be in a strong position to get things done by January 1st.

According to Phillips, Chelsea are hoping to complete the deal with Bournemouth as quickly as possible and to complete the deal at the start of the next transfer window.

Chelsea want to win the race for Alex Scott

Of course, there is no guarantee that Chelsea will get their wish, but it seems that they are serious about beating their rivals to Scott.

Liverpool have also been linked with Scott, but as recently reported by the Daily Briefing, they are also looking at Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha as a cheap alternative, as the Cherry ace could be too expensive.

Scott was doing well under Andoni Iraola when he was manager at Bournemouth, which could prompt the 23-year-old to link up with him again at Anfield.

Still, Chelsea seem to be leading the race for his signature at the moment and we know they have plenty of money to spend after selling Fernandez.

Xabi Alonso’s side have had a mixed start to the season, so strengthening the midfield makes sense as a priority for the winter window.

Scott looks ideal to improve CFC in a troubled situation and perhaps give them a better chance at a strong second half of the season.
