Chelsea are keeping tabs on Como midfielder Lucas Da Cunha following the Frenchman’s impressive rise in Serie A and recent international breakthrough.
The 25-year-old has become a key figure for the Italian club since joining from Nice in 2023, with his versatility and technical ability making him a valuable part of their midfield.
Lucas Da Cunha is of interest to the Premier League
According to Hooligan Soccer, English clubs tracking Da Cunha include Chelsea, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, while Manchester United, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Brighton are also interested in the midfielder. Chelsea’s interest is believed to have existed before his latest call-up to the France squad.
Da Cunha’s profile has risen considerably since his big international debut under Zinedine Zidane. He starred in France’s win over Belgium, giving him a chance to show his skills on a bigger stage.
Como has already realized its importance in its projects. The midfielder has signed a contract extension with the club and Como has confirmed his decision to come after making significant progress since his arrival. Cesc Fabregas has previously praised his adaptability, versatility and tactical intelligence.
Da Cunha could attract a big offer
The emergence of the midfielder has naturally attracted more attention from English clubs, especially as several teams look to add creativity and flexibility to their midfield options.
It is reported that “Chelsea” is considering its options on the eve of the January transfer window, “Manchester United” is also monitoring the situation. Manchester United have invested in a number of midfielders recently and a move to Chelsea would make more sense for the Frenchman.
Como are under no immediate pressure to sell their captain, meaning interested clubs could face difficult negotiations if they decide to make a formal approach.
Da Cunha still has plenty of room to develop, but his recent performances have already put him firmly on the radar of clubs across Europe. A strong season at Como could further boost its value and reputation.
