Celtic 3-2 Besiktas: Duran and Osmand revive Celtic – but where does it go from Hogg?

An hour gone at Parkhead on Thursday, there was little hope in the stands.

“Celtic” lost to “Beşiktaş” with a score of 1:0 and is on its way to the fourth defeat in a row in the Europa League this season.

Manager Martin O’Neill turned to the bench for the spark, bringing on Callum Osmand and Camilo Duran in place of Sebastian Tounect and James Forrest.

The effect was almost instantaneous.

Osmand’s first touch was placed in the bottom corner of Alexander Nubel’s goal just 43 seconds after the 20-year-old striker came on.

Suddenly, “Celtic” created a threat at the back and “Besiktas” looked crazy.

Then, in the 77th minute, O’Neill got back from Casper Hogg and slotted Duran through the middle after another extraordinary display from his club record signing.

Again, it had the desired effect.

Osmand played in Duran with a delightful pass and the Colombian rounded Nubel to give Celtic the lead.

Orkun Kökcü equalized for Beşiktaş with a fine strike, but two minutes later Duran had the final say, controlling Kieran Tierney’s chipped shot and beating Nubel from close range to delight the home support.
