Public sources have not yet confirmed this. Betway’s own promotions page didn’t show the offer when we looked, so read every figure below is unconfirmed.

What is the Betway welcome package worth?
On paper, the package is small. The NGN 1000 bonus is less than the ₦4000 you have to wager to release it. So the real value of the offer is the bet, not the bonus. Before you sign up, decide if you want to bet that much anyway.
Bet: what to play
The ₦4000 claim covers sports and casino together. ToffeeWeb says it’s ₦1500 for sports, but doesn’t say how the rest is split, so ask Betway before depositing. Sports bets are only settled on accumulators of five or more legs with combined odds of 3.00 or higher. Crash games count with a multiplier of 1.5x or more. The watch works within 30 days of registration.
Free bets and spins must be used after unlocking the bonus. ToffeeWeb says they “should generally be used within 7 days”. This word has meaning, and the review does not specify which cases it covers.
How to claim a Betway bonus
- Open Betway via our registration link and select Register.
- Fill in your personal information and select Nigerian naira (NGN) as your currency.
- Enter AFIWAY in the promo code field during registration. The code must be entered during registration, so you cannot add it later.
- Verify your phone number, then make your first deposit of at least ₦100.
- Before placing a bet, check whether the bonus appears in your account. We haven’t registered ourselves, so we can’t say how long the loan will take.
The full registration guide is in our guide on how to register a Betway account in Nigeria and the deposit side is in our Betway deposit guide.
Insider tips before you claim
- Take ₦4,000 as the real price. A ₦1,000 bonus that requires four times its value in bets only makes sense if you’re going to deposit that money anyway.
- Set up five-foot slides early. A minimum of five legs and combined odds of 3.00 is the tricky part, and losing a leg can cost you progress.
- Enjoy free returns and flights in the first week. Reviews say extra bets and spins usually expire after 7 days, so mark that date in your calendar.
- A screenshot of the conditions when registering. Betway’s own promotions page didn’t display the offer for us and review pages may lag behind the changes.
- Ask what part of the ₦4,000 is earmarked for sports. Only ₦1,500 is reported as sport, so a mismatched swipe may not change the total amount.
Pros and cons of the Betway offer
Pros
- Low ₦100 minimum deposit
- Free spins and Aviator flights on top of the bonus
- Clear 30 day limit as reported
Cons
- Wagering is four times the bonus
- Five-legged accumulators with odds of 3.00 are a high bar
- The promo code has not been verified on the operator’s website
- Bonus bets and spins may expire after 7 days
Is Betway licensed in Nigeria?
SoccerNet is licensed by the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, LSLGA/OP/OSB/BW221017 and the National Lottery Regulatory Commission. The two reviews we checked did not match the operator’s legal name and we did not match the license with the betway.com.ng site footer on that day. Check the footer yourself before depositing. Since the Supreme Court’s decision on November 22, 2024, state regulators have been licensing gambling, so a state license should be sought.
We haven’t opened an account, so we can’t talk about payout speeds. Our notes on how to withdraw money from Betway in Nigeria cover the cash withdrawal side.

Bet is for adults over 18 years of age. Set a deposit limit before you start and invest only money you can afford to lose. Reading is not a way to earn money. If it stops being fun, take a break and talk to someone you trust.
