“Manchester United” star Benjamin Sesko will not appear again in 2026.
The 23-year-old Slovenian striker is set to spend a longer time on the treatment table as the club is being extra cautious about his long-term fitness.
Speaking to X, football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed the grim prognosis for the United frontman:
“Benjamin Sesko will be out until at least January with a calf injury. Manchester United want their striker back in 2027 once he is 100% fit, reports @TheAthleticFC.”

The Red Devils’ medical staff and senior management have agreed not to rush Sesko back into action, ensuring he undergoes a rigorous rehabilitation program alongside specialists before he can resume competition in 2027.
Benjamin Sesko is struggling with injury
Sesko’s sacking comes as a blow to manager Michael Carrick, compounding a frustrating 2026/27 campaign for the former RB Leipzig forward.
The striker had been dealing with a persistent lower leg problem which flared up towards the end of the previous season after a heavy clash against Liverpool.
After returning to action at the start of the season, Sesko made a dramatic comeback against Brighton in the United States Carabao Cup on 16 September.
Further evaluations and the removal of international charges confirmed that the underlying bone strain in his calf required a long period of rest and targeted rehabilitation.
With Sesko out for the remainder of the calendar year, United’s attacking options are stretched further in a tough winter schedule.
Carrick will have to rely heavily on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to shoulder the goalscoring burden as Manchester United look to climb off the bottom of the Premier League table.
