Barcelona sporting director Deco clarifies Barcelona are not interested in signing Manchester United prodigy JJ Gabriel.
The 15-year-old has decided to leave the Red Devils and turned down a scholarship offer when he turns 16 next month.
Gabriel has asked United to cancel his registration and reports suggest he could eventually move to La Liga, with Barcelona and Real Madrid both interested.
However, Barca have now distanced themselves from the speculation, with Deco explicitly insisting the club had not made any contact with him.
He said: “There’s not much to say about the boy. We always have players linked to us and that’s normal. We’re not interested in any player in his situation. I’m not sure what’s going on.”
JJ Gabriel He was in Barcelona with his father earlier last week but nothing seemed to happen. He could still end up staying in Spain and working out a suitable long-term plan with Madrid.
