Barcelona bounced back in style from their Clasico loss to Real Madrid by thrashing Alaves 6-1 at the Camp Nou.

Hansi Flick has revealed that his team’s confidence has not been affected by back-to-back defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Madrid and that his team is determined to get back to winning ways.

Raphinha opened the scoring and although a makeshift Barca defense were somewhat lucky not to concede an equaliser, they doubled their lead when Fermin Lopez found the net from a tight angle.

A second from Raphinha effectively put the game in doubt four minutes before half-time, with an excellent first half ending with a stoppage-time strike from Lamine Yamal.

Yamal emulated Raphinha to get the second net, with substitute Anthony Gordon the last player in action before Mariano Diaz grabbed a late consolation for the visitors.

Barcelona returned to the top of La Liga after beating Atletico Madrid 2-0 earlier in the day.

It took just eight minutes for Barca to break the deadlock, Raphinha hitting the post after Pedri’s superb pass with the edge of Fermi’s boot for the Brazilian.

Alaves then had a number of chances to restore parity, with Abderrahmane Rebbach firing wide and Lucas Boye headed wide by Rodry before Angel Perez saw his effort brilliantly saved by Joan Garcia.

The visitors were punished for failing to capitalize on either of those chances as Fermi’s close-range effort at the error deceived Antonio Sivera and found the far corner.

Raphinha was guilty of sloppiness as he turned the bar at his mercy after great work from Yamal down the right, then a fine Sivera save was denied.

But Raphinha made up for the miss as he expertly handled Fermi’s counter pass before coolly slotting home the second.

The pick of the goals in the first half came from Yamal, who met Joao Cancelo’s unerring move from the edge of the area into the bottom right corner.

Karim Adeyemi squandered a fine chance to make it 5-0 early in the second half, but a fifth came as he doubled his tally with a brazen sneer over Yamal Sivera.

Yamal was soon withdrawn ahead of Barca’s Champions League clash with Aston Villa, racing down the left to beat a defender to a cross from substitute Gordon Rodri to make it 6-0 and slot the ball home.

Alaves fans were consoled as Diaz ensured the injury-hit defense was broken by finding the bottom left corner, although it was only a note as Barcelona resumed normal service.
