Christos Tzolis picked up a knee injury during the Greek international break and now there is an update on the Arsenal star.
Arsenal have provided a fresh update on the fitness of Christos Tzolis, with the Greek club making a statement regarding the replacement for the Gunners star. Tzolis suffered a suspected thigh injury in Greece’s 2-2 Nations League draw with the Netherlands and faces a potential spell on the sidelines.
According to football.london, Tzolis could be out for around 15 to 20 days following the injury he picked up in Thessaloniki on Thursday evening.
Tzolis joined Arsenal in the summer in a deal worth around £34million and has provided four assists in his first eight appearances for the club.
The Arsenal star played just 18 minutes before being substituted in Greece’s game against the Netherlands and has now been dropped from the national team.
Greek club PAOK have released a statement confirming that Dimitris Pelkas has been called up to the national team for next week’s final Nations League game.
“Dimitris Pelkas has been called up to the Greek National Team for the big game against Germany in Toumba on Sunday,” PAOK wrote on social media.
“Good luck, Dimitris!”
Arsenal now face a wait to find out how long Tzolis might be unavailable, with the Premier League set to return next week after an extended international break.
As already reported by football.london, the Gunners are reluctant to give an exact time frame on when Tzolis could be fit again, with the club instead planning to assess his fitness when he returns to the UK.

Tzolis had enjoyed an impressive international break with Greece before the injury, scoring in a 2-1 win over Serbia and providing the assist for the winning goal in a 1-0 win over Jurgen Klopp’s Germany.
The 24-year-old will return to London Colney in the coming days where he will be assessed by Arsenal’s medical team.
Kai Havertz has given Arsenal an injury scare during the international break after suffering a fitness problem in Germany’s draw with the Netherlands last week.
Arsenal return to Premier League action on Saturday 10 October when they host Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.
