Arsenal get boost after signing Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez With Barcelona’s recent change of stance.
The Gunners were keen to sign the World Cup winner from Atletico Madrid this summer, but the striker refused to accept the move.
Alvarez was determined to join Barcelona and eventually stayed at Atletico Madrid, but Atletico refused to do business with its rivals at all costs.
The Argentinian has been a regular substitute for Atletico since then and it now appears Barcelona will not be returning for him at the end of the year.
Barcelona sporting director Deco recently said Alvarez was a thing of the past and admitted the club might not reconsider their interest.
That could be a good thing for the Gunners, who could make another push to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Alvarez has been reluctant to return to the Premier League due to family housing issues, which remains a stumbling block.
