Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Fulham youngster Josh King as both Premier League giants weigh up a potential move for the highly-rated attacking midfielder.
The 19-year-old has made a promising impression in the Premier League this season and his performances have caught the eye of some of England’s biggest clubs in a 4-4-2 formation. Fulham is in no hurry to part ways with the academy product.
Josh King is of interest to Arsenal and Liverpool
King has scored twice in five league games this season and is quickly establishing himself as one of Fulham’s most exciting young players. His development has not gone unnoticed, with clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool understood to be monitoring his situation.
The Cottagers have signed the teenager to a long-term deal, putting them in a strong negotiating position. Fulham are said to want a fee of at least €60m for their young star, although his value could rise if he continues to impress in the coming months.
Fulham are expected to resist any approach for King during the January transfer window, meaning interested clubs may have to wait before making a serious move.
Arsenal could see King as another long-term attacking option. Mikel Arteta’s side have recently been linked with a number of young strikers and attacking midfielders, and the Fulham star looks to fit the profile of a player who could become an important part of his squad.
The king could have had many options
Liverpool are also believed to be monitoring the situation closely. Their interest could be particularly significant if Florian Wirtz’s future at Anfield is uncertain, with King seen as a younger alternative who could potentially develop into a creative attacking player.
For now, Fulham remain in control. A significant offer could eventually test their resolve, but the London club have little reason to rush into a sale.
With Arsenal, Liverpool and European clubs reportedly monitoring his progress, King could become one of the most closely watched young players ahead of the upcoming transfer windows.
