Arsenal and Liverpool are keeping tabs on Josh King, with the Fulham youngster fast becoming one of the most talked about young players in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old has had a great start to the season and already looks more solid than his age would suggest.
This progress has naturally attracted bigger clubs, with Borussia Dortmund among those following.
“Fulham” is in a strong position. King is under contract until 2029 and has become an important part of his first team, meaning any move would require a big offer.
Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in the £51m King
According to 4-4-2.ch, Arsenal, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are interested in King, who is currently valued at £51m.
This rating reflects how quickly his reputation has grown.
King made 32 Premier League appearances last season and has started all five of Fulham’s league games so far this term, scoring twice.
He has also been involved with England’s youth set-up and trained with Thomas Tuchel’s senior team ahead of the World Cup.
From Arsenal’s point of view, he would fit the club’s recruitment model almost perfectly: young, technically gifted, proven in England and still with plenty of room to grow.
Bobby Zamora’s definition explains why ball clubs circle
Former Fulham striker Bobby Zamora was particularly impressed by King.
Speaking to GOAL, Zamora said: “He’s a fantastic talent.” He also praised the teenager’s desire for the ball in difficult areas, his willingness to create and score goals.
This definition seems correct. King plays with unusual confidence for a teenager.
He is comfortable receiving the ball under pressure, moves it well from midfield and already looks capable of influencing Premier League matches.
The question for Arsenal is whether they are willing to pay such a large fee for the potential.
At £51m, King would not be a cheap development signing. But if the club believes he can develop into a top-class attacking midfielder, it may be wiser to sign early than wait for his price to rise further.
The fact that Liverpool and Dortmund are in the competition only adds to the relevance.
