Liverpool have confirmed Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite as a potential long-term successor Virgil van DijkAccording to TeamTalk.
Red Army signing Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo (On loan) Over the summer, the two have been outstanding in the early stages of the season.
Jacquet has taken up the right center back position. Araujo mainly plays as a central defender and performs well at right back.
The Merseyside giants remain keen on bringing in another centre-back and are aiming to complete a deal for Branthwaite sometime next year.
As captain, Van Dijk became the undisputed starter at left centre-back, but it was widely felt that a suitable successor was needed.
Branthwaite has emerged as an ideal fit for the Anfield giants, but there is no sign that the Toffees will accept his sale in the near future.
The Englishman is fully committed to the Toffees following an injury last season and may not push for a move against the club’s wishes.
Manchester United are also keeping a close eye on his performance.
