Pedro, Martinez, Chavarria, Emegha – Chelsea injury news and return dates ahead of Liverpool

Chelsea injury update following Xabi Alonso’s press conference ahead of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool

Xabi Alonso will not be able to call on Joao Pedro for tomorrow night’s Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool at Anfield. Pedro has made an impressive start to the campaign, scoring five goals and providing three assists in seven matches, but now looks set to produce a spell on the sidelines.

But speaking on Tuesday, Alonso confirmed: “He has a thigh injury and he will be out for a few weeks. We’ll see how long. We don’t want to predict that. But we’re not ready for the next games.

“He is a key player. We will miss him but we have to be ready to fight the injury, compete and try to win with the players we have. That is the situation.”

With tomorrow’s game in mind, we’ve rounded up the latest Chelsea injury news.
