Ireland trailed 2-1 in their five-match one-day international series against Namibia as they lost the third meeting between the sides by 63 runs in Windhoek on Tuesday.
Curtis Campher’s century was not enough for the tourists who were bundled out for 253 in the 45th over as they struggled to post their opposition to 316-7.
The captain of the Irish team, Paul Stirling, could not shoot after injuring his finger during the home team’s throw.
Jan Frylinck shone for Namibia with 126 to set the platform for victory.
The sides will meet again on Friday and Sunday as Ireland continue their preparations for next year’s World Cup qualifiers.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, opener Lauren Steenkamp’s 13th over left Namibia 33-1.
The hosts sat at 81-2 when Malan Kruger (42) lost his wicket, but a third-wicket partnership of 101 between Frylinck and captain Gerhard Erasmus (54) got their side on track again to reach an impressive total.
Alex Wolshank kicked 36 goals, while Kempher and Andy McBreen were the pick of the Irish with two wickets apiece.
In reply, Ireland struggled to 56-4, Campher’s 106 off 86 balls giving them the chance to secure what at one stage looked an unlikely victory.
Ultimately, their reply came up short, but wickets continued to fall at regular intervals and all out with 31 balls of their innings still remaining.
Bernard Scholtz, Ruben Trumpelmann and Jack Brassell each got two wickets.
