Bournemouth and England midfielder Alex Scott is attracting suitors in the Premier League, including the Chelsea boss.
Chelsea target Alex Scott will not be sold in January, according to reports. Bournemouth want to strengthen their place in the Premier League this season and it was claimed that the midfielder of the England national team will not be sold.
The 23-year-old is attracting plenty of suitors after an astronomical rise for the Guernsey-born midfielder. The Daily Mail report that Xabi Alonso’s side are among the Premier League giants to monitor the former Bristol City man’s future with Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as both linked Manchester clubs, with the Blues launching at least one transfer raid for him and offering around £64m.
This is a historic year for Marco Rose’s side as they compete in Europe for the first time, with the Cherries looking to navigate Europa League football and challenge for the Premier League. Scott is integral to that, with reports suggesting Bournemouth have no intention of selling him in January, with any deal having to wait until the summer at the earliest.
football.london reported this week that Scott was in talks over a new contract at the Vitality Stadium. The 23-year-old has rejected numerous offers of improved terms on the south coast, but Bournemouth remain in talks.
Scott got the England nod this week as he made a 20-minute cameo in the Three Lions’ 2-0 Nations League win over the Czech Republic.
The midfielder is high on the list of targets for Chelsea, who are looking to add reinforcements to their engine room after completing Enzo Fernandez’s move to Manchester City on deadline day.
The Blues were left stranded in the closing hours of the window as a last-gasp effort to add a midfielder came to naught, with the Ligue 1 side coming close to signing AS Monaco’s Lamine Camara before rejecting the transfer.

Scott has two years left on his current deal with Rose’s side, leaving Chelsea and other potential suitors facing a negotiating battle with the Cherries hierarchy.
In addition, Liverpool’s alleged interest could lead to a reunion with Andoni Iraola. Scott has indeed been under the Basque tactician’s rise to fame in the Premier League and reports suggest the pair’s relationship remains strong.
Sources suggest Chelsea are serious about the 23-year-old and the summer transfer window is the best time to make a move.
England manager Thomas Tuchel said: “Alex Scott has had perhaps one of the best performances from a midfielder in the Premier League since he started with Bournemouth.
“Individually he is one of the outstanding midfielders, so obviously he deserves to be with us.
“He’s taken another step in the right direction. Very impressive and happy to be on that path. Now he’s playing in Europe at Bournemouth and he deserves to be with us.”
