15 players could miss Man Utd vs Tottenham as Roberto De Zerbi gives triple update

Tottenham travel to face Manchester United at Old Trafford with both managers giving injury updates

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are set to be without some key players for their Premier League clash at Old Trafford. Spurs travel north on Saturday (5.30pm kick-off) as the extended international break comes to an end.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side are looking for their first win of the season and hope to move up the Premier League table. Before the game with “United”, the manager announced the latest innovations in his team.

Spurs will have Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven at their disposal after De Zerbi confirmed that both players are ready for continued strikes during the international break.

De Zerbi also expects James Maddison to be available, although the Tottenham manager admitted the playmaker has been struggling in training.

“He [Maddison] available, but he missed three/four days at the beginning of this week and at the end of last week and at the start of it,” De Zerbi said. “James is a special player for us. Gallagher plays well in the No.10 role. We were both disappointed because James wanted to be on the field.

“It’s not a big injury and he can play tomorrow, but the Premier League is tough and you have to be fit and in the right position to run and fight. He’s doing well and that’s it. The way is to complete 3/4/5 weeks in a row without pain or problems and then he’s a normal player.”

However, Pedro Porro and Mykhailo Mudryk will miss out, with De Zerbi confirming that neither player will be available to face United. Dejan Kulusevski, Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert continue to be sidelined for Tottenham and will not play any part in the match.

For United, Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui are expected to be sidelined due to injuries sustained while on international duty. “Patrick is out and probably out for a couple of weeks,” Carrick said.

“We [Mazraoui] came out and knocked. He’s not quite right yet, so we’ll have to see how he does.”

Benjamin Sesko is also certain to miss out after the striker was left out of the Slovenia squad and left in limbo with Fulham ahead of the international break due to injury.

Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo will undergo late fitness tests after being withdrawn from the England squad at the start of the international break.

Doubts remain over the availability of Carlos Baleba and Amad Diallo, who have resumed training at United. all this season . “Carlos [Baleba] he’s improved, he’s trained a lot,” Carrick said.

“Amad did some training, Marcus did some training, Kobe did some training.

“So there’s really a little bit of confusion among the group. Ben’s a little bit out of trouble, so he’s not going to be ready.”

Questions also remain over whether Matthijs de Ligt will be fully fit as the defender continues his rehabilitation from a back problem that has sidelined him since last November. Manuel Ugarte will be sidelined with a knee injury, while there is uncertainty over the fitness of goalkeeper duo Karl Darlow and Tom Heaton.
