Matthias Jaissle was questioned about Manchester City’s guilty verdicts.
An independent commission found them guilty of 114 out of 115 alleged breaches of Premier League rules.
Manchester City, of course, appealed against these guilty verdicts.
The approach of Premier League football this weekend has given the media access to managers at various levels.
Earlier on Thursday afternoon, the media announced that all five Premier League managers holding pre-match press conferences today would be questioned about their guilty verdicts at Manchester City.
United manager Matthias Jaissle spoke today ahead of Monday’s game against Coventry City and had this classy response to a question about Manchester City’s guilty verdicts: “I think as a manager of another club I’m not in a position to make a judgment and that’s not my job. It’s not in my job description to make a judgment about that in particular. The authority is dealing with it and there’s a clear process now that will be followed. On behalf of the whole club, it’s the right approach to look at what we can do better and what we can focus on. Just focus on what we can do better.”
Frank Lampard of his Coventry City home team United played today as well as on Monday evening.
Asked about Manchester City, the Sky Blues boss replied: “What can you say when there’s an appeal? I’m not in the story. They’re a huge football club now, a big squad of quality players, so we’ll see.”
Daniel Farke was also questioned today, with the Leeds boss saying when asked about Man City: “It doesn’t make sense for anyone to want to comment on it now. There are people more qualified to talk about it and it has nothing to do with me, I wasn’t in the title race in those years.”
Bournemouth manager Marco Rose had this to say about Manchester City and the guilty verdicts today: “I trust the guys involved in these situations and we’ll see what happens. I’m not a politician, I’m a football coach and I love being a football coach and it should stay that way.”
Despite the claims ahead of Thursday’s press conferences, the media at the Regis le Bris press conference somehow failed to ask the Mackem boss about Manchester City’s guilty pleas.
