captain of manchester united Bruno Fernandez has been left out of Portugal’s Nations League squad for tonight’s clash with Norway.
The 32-year-old has been a key player for club and country but is currently playing through pain as a manager Jorge Jesus Confirmed.
As a result, Fernandez was not included in the squad for the away game against Norway and it remains to be seen whether he can return in the next few games.
The Portuguese played a huge role for the Red Devils last season and his 30 goals were crucial in the Red Devils finishing third in the league.
He continues to impress with five goals this season and United hope his current concerns are just a minor issue.
Portugal have two more Nations League games against Denmark and Norway (at home) and Fernandez is expected to return for those games.
United will monitor his situation closely and may seek an early return to Old Trafford if he is deemed unfit for the remainder of the campaign.
