2026 Wor Jackie Trophy presented to Anthony Munda.
Exciting Newcastle United talent was recognized at a Sport Newcastle dinner on Thursday night.
The Wor Jackie Trophy honors the late, great former Magpies forward Jackie Milburn, and each year a rising NUFC star is presented with it.
Previous winners include Elliot Anderson, Lewis Miley, Sean Longstaff, Andy Carroll, Peter Ramage, Freddie Woodman and Adam Armstrong, as well as …Nile Ranger.
Last year’s Wor Jackie Trophy was won by teenage forward Sean Neave.
Anthony Munda completed a season-long loan move to Swindon Town in August to gain first-team football and build on his burgeoning career.
At that time, the club’s official statement said: ‘Newcastle United midfielder Anthony Munda has joined League Two club Swindon Town on loan for the 2026/27 season. Anthony joined United’s Academy at the age of nine in 2012 and has been a regular for the club’s under-21 team in recent years. Progressing through the youth ranks at the Magpies, he made his FA Youth Cup debut aged 15 in December 2022 in a third round match against Charlton Athletic. Anthony Munda, aged 16, made his second start at under-21 level in a Premier League 2 away match against Blackburn Rovers in January 2024, before scoring an impressive stoppage-time equalizer against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Everyone at Newcastle United wishes Anthony all the best for the season ahead.”
