The Europa League returns on Thursday evening with 17 fixtures across the continent, including several heavyweight clashes.
“Milan” hosted “Ferençvaros”, “Juventus” visited “AZ Alkmaar”, “Celtic” met “Besiktas” in Glasgow, “Bayer Leverkusen” met “Marseille”, and “Real Sociedad” met “Lyon”.
Here’s how the action unfolds.
“Milan” – “Ferensvaros” – 0:2
Lenny Joseph scored twice in the second half as Ferencvaros stunned AC Milan at the San Siro.
Jozef opened the scoring in the 52nd minute and doubled the visitors’ lead 14 minutes later, leaving Milan facing yet another European defeat.
Ferencvaros were reduced to 10 men when Yusif was sent off in the 77th minute, but the Hungarian side held on for victory.
Real Sociedad 1:1 Lyon
Corentin Tolisso scored a superb second-half equalizer as Lyon drew 1-1 with Real Sociedad.
In the 28th minute, Orri Oskarsson headed Ander Barrenetxea’s pass from close range and put the Spaniards ahead.
However, Tolisso equalized nine minutes after the restart, handling Tanner Tessmann’s high cross on the chest before slotting past Unai Marrero.
Both sides had chances to win it before Marrero made a superb save to keep out Tolisso’s header in the 90th minute, Lyon goalkeeper Dominic Greif denying Mikel Oyarzabal.
Alkmaar 1-2 Juventus
“Juventus” defeated “AZ Alkmaar” in the Netherlands with a score of 2:1, Teun Koopmeiners and Randal Kolo Muani scored goals for the Italian side.
The visitors created a two-goal advantage in the first half and left AZ with a difficult task after the break.
Although the Dutch side managed to pull back a goal, “Juventus” kept all three points.
Bayer Leverkusen 0:1 Marseille
Amine Gouiri struck late in the second half as Marseille beat Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 at the BayArena.
Both sides went into the interval level after a goalless first half, with neither finding a breakthrough.
Gouiri finally broke the deadlock in the closing stages to give Marseille a much-needed European win.
